Cenco Malls Announces Decision on the Vitacura Shopping Center Project
Santiago, December 2, 2025. Cenco Malls announces that, as already publicly known since November 20, the Regional Secretariat of Transportation and Telecommunications (SEREMI) of the Metropolitan Region issued a resolution invalidating the Traffic Impact Mitigation Report (IMIV) for the Cencosud Shopping Vitacura project.
The IMIV is a critical prerequisite for initiating construction, and its annulment by the authority fundamentally undermines the ongoing environmental assessment, leaving it without legal or technical basis. As a result, the project cannot proceed.
Cenco Malls deeply regrets this decision, particularly given that the IMIV had been approved 16 months ago following a rigorous technical review. Throughout this period, the Company diligently complied with every requirement and request from the relevant authorities. Nevertheless, SEREMI chose to revoke the permit, citing errors that, paradoxically, originated from its own management of the process.
Considering this adverse scenario, and despite years of effort to advance this investment, Cenco Malls is compelled to discontinue the project.
The Company has invited the landowner to engage in discussions on the most appropriate way to conclude the permitting process, which is expected to take place in the coming days.
Cenco Malls extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who participated in this initiative and reaffirms its commitment to developing projects that generate lasting value for its customers, employees, and the communities where it operates.
