Minister Zalaquett leads the signing of an agreement between EASY and SernamEG

It is an important alliance that reflects the commitment of two institutions, one public and one private, with the objective of providing comprehensive support to women survivors of violence, so they can restart their lives alongside their daughters and sons.

EASY and SernamEG, under the Ministry of Women and Gender Equity, signed a collaboration agreement on Monday that will directly benefit the users of the Shelter Houses, which are protective spaces for women at serious or life-threatening risk due to different types of violence, where they can enter with their children.

"Under the agreement, EASY commits to providing construction materials, equipment, and/or furnishings, as well as labor, to repair, furnish, and/or equip the Shelter Houses of SernamEG. This will be done through the 'Home Therapy' initiative, which, thanks to the voluntary work of EASY employees, brings about changes in the physical spaces to make them more welcoming." Minister Zalaquett.

"Additionally, both institutions will develop a Special Labor Insertion Program for Women Survivors of Gender Violence, with flexible criteria regarding working hours, promoting the development of a tool aimed at eliminating the gaps and barriers faced by survivors of violence in this regard." "During 2020, over 700 women received psycho-social-legal assistance in the 43 Shelter Houses provided by the National Service for Women and Gender Equity. These physical spaces serve as temporary homes for survivors of different types of violence who are in the process of starting a life free from violence, both for themselves and their children." In turn, SernamEG, through its regional offices, will provide workshops on Good Labor Practices with Gender Equity to EASY employees. Additionally, an introduction will be made to the 'Equal-Work Life Balance Seal', which is awarded to institutions that certify compliance with the NCh3262 Standard.
